THE MIXING TABLE OPENS ITS DOORS AND OFFERS
CONVENIENCE, CREATIVITY AND HEALTHY FOOD CHOICES

Seekonk, MA – November 29, 2006 – The Mixing Table, an independently owned meal preparation business, is pleased to announce that it is now open and ready to welcome customers at its Seekonk, MA store. This innovative retail business invites customers to assemble up to twelve delicious meals designed to be frozen and cooked when needed. The goal of the unique meal preparation concept is to assist customers in gaining more free time; to have healthier options with more variety for dinner; and do it all in a cost-effective way. Customers will also find an added social element in this cooking style; not only in the stylish atmosphere of The Mixing Table store, but also in their own homes with family and friends.

“We are thrilled to finally be able to share The Mixing Table with our community, and we hope that we can make a difference in the lives of our customers by offering high quality, healthy and delicious home-cooked meals that are affordable, and easy to prepare,” said Vanessa Weiner, Co-Owner, The Mixing Table. “We are also working to extend this healthy concept into the community by way of relationships with local non-profit groups.”

The meal preparation concept is simple; once a person has registered for an in-store scheduled session, they choose their entrée selections from the menu, which changes monthly. Following recipes, customers move from station to station preparing meals with the provided and prepped ingredients; and once complete, they add a cooking label with instructions for final preparation at home. If a customer is unable to commit to a scheduled session, they can also attend open sessions offered during the week which do not require pre-registration. At these sessions they will have the option of making one to twelve entrées based on the time they have that day. The Mixing Table also offers pick-up service for pre-ordered entrees, and has pre-assembled entrées, accompaniments & desserts for purchase in the store. Gift certificates and other unique gift items can also be purchased. Private parties are available when scheduled in advance, for up to 12 people and are perfect for neighborhood gatherings, girl’s/guy’s night out, baby or wedding showers, fundraisers, housewarming and corporate team building.

“We believe food should be healthful, creative, enjoyable and most importantly, shared. Our goal is to combine our past experiences with our love of cooking, to deliver only the highest quality meals,” said Susan Casper, Co-Owner, The Mixing Table. “In educating our customers about the health benefits of this solution, as well as the cost-savings, we hope that we can help families enjoy healthier dinner options, while still keeping their personal tastes and lifestyles in mind.”

The company is co-owned by three busy Moms who know what it’s like to juggle family and a career, and the challenges of providing healthy meals that the whole family will enjoy, without spending the whole day shopping, preparing, cooking and cleaning up afterwards. The goal of this highly motivated and experienced management team is not only to be an innovator in the meal preparation industry, but to help make their customers lives a little easier. This meal preparation concept is convenient for all, whether they are married or single, with or without children, customers can save an estimated 20 hours a month. There is a social and interactive setting which allows for mixing with old and new friends, and this creative time spent at The Mixing Table makes home cooked meals cost-effective (on average $3-$5 a portion). Compared to pre-cooked meals from the supermarket, or fast food restaurants, The Mixing Table lends an alternative to dinner – people will have a variety of meals, all of which they know are healthy.

“Our decision to open an independent store was highly motivated by the flexibility it allows us to tailor our business while listening to our customers,” said Tracy Edes, Co-Owner, The Mixing Table. “We are also working with an award-winning chef to help us develop our own unique recipes that we believe will give an added credibility and uniqueness to our store.”

Other offerings include: pick-up service; organic and vegetarian options; zero trans fat recipes, locally grown seasonal produce and fresh products as often as possible, flexible quantities; a warm social environment; and a refund policy that can’t be beat – if you don’t like the meal, The Mixing Table will offer another selection of the customers’ choosing or a gift card for the equal amount.
