THE MIXING TABLE SHOWCASES LOCAL WELL-KNOWN CHEFS EACH MONTH THROUGH FEATURED RECIPES AND APPEARANCES

Seekonk, MA – February 28, 2007 – The Mixing Table, an independently owned meal preparation business, is pleased to announce its “Chef Series” – a monthly showcase of local Providence-area chefs. The Series kicked off this past month, as customers enjoyed a recipe provided by Chef Angie Armenise of Twist on Angell; who created wasabi-pea encrusted salmon with coconut miso broth, brown rice and stir-fry vegetables for the February menu. The Mixing Table is now announcing the continuation of the Chef Series, with A-list chefs lined up for every month in 2007.

Each month The Mixing Table will feature an entrée provided by the designated chef to compliment its monthly menu. The chef will also be invited to make an appearance (at such events as classes, demonstrations, book signings, etc.) in the Seekonk, MA store, which opened in November 2006. Chefs in the series range from those with small bistro restaurants to large chains.

“I was thrilled to be invited by The Mixing Table to participate in its Chef Series; what an exciting promotional opportunity for local chefs to take part in! It is an excellent avenue for people in the local food industry to try techniques they might not always attempt; as the food needs to be freeze-able, which is something most restaurant chefs don’t generally need to think about,” said Chef Angie. “The food preparation industry is growing, and while it’s a different venue to what I am used to, I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of this great series through The Mixing Table; its really adding another dimension to its industry, being ahead of its game.”

The following chefs are already signed up to join The Mixing Table Chef Series: Kate & Matt Jennings, la Laiterie at Farmstead; Jonathan Cambra, Castle Hill Inn and Resort; James Campagna, Boathouse; Mike Conetta, Waterman Grille; Kevin DiLibero, 22 Bowen’s Wine Bar and Grille; and Brian Mansfield, The Mooring Restaurant. Each chef, recipe and appearance date will be announced each month.

“We are honored that all of the chefs we have approached for this promotion, accepted, and are genuinely excited to take part,” said Tracy Edes, Co-owner, The Mixing Table. “The partnerships we are forming with these local chefs and restaurants just prove how the food preparation industry has grown, and our local restaurant scene is really embracing this new concept. We are looking forward to working with these top chefs, and can’t wait to see what they create!”
